08 Season

Banners you can use to link to my site

Thank you for your support

March 28 2008

Things are starting to get real busy here with most of the shows over it's time to start focusing on the season to come. With the new Home Land Security regulations I have applied for my passport book.

I'll be at the Wonderland Marine West Dealership this Saturday for their open house so please stop by if you have the time.

I need to thank Anglers Mart for hooking me up! lol they got me a great deal on the hooks I used

March 16 2008

Just finished the Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic and it was great seeing so many of you there.

I received a incredible gift today from Scales and Tales Cartoonist Bill McElroy, its a Save Phace Mask with his artwork all over it. I had asked if he could do something up for me but I never thought it would be this!

SEE THE MASK HERE

Bill and the Scales and Tales crew have a new home at BoatUSAngler so if you can stop by and check it out

February 23 2008

The weather maybe cold but I'm ready to go fishing, I'm feeling much better now and am looking forward to the new season with baited anticipation.

As you can see I didn't make it down to the Bassmasters Classic this year, with my health in question I didn't want to be there and have issues so by the time I started feeling better it was to late to get a room and find someone willing to go.

I need to welcome Larsen Sales to the website (Thank You Skeeter) Skeeter is a disabled angler like myself that tries to make a little extra money to help him get out and fish. He sells cleaning products for your boat from carpet cleaner to live well cleaner. So if you have a chance stop by his web site and check him out.

February 3 2008

I'm still fighting this ear infection and have been under the weather for some time now and apologize about the lack of posts here. I have been to the doctors 3 times now and thing are starting to look better but my ear is still not right. The medication seems to be working but at a much slower pace then I would like.

I have heard from the FLW and for the second year in a row I'm on the waiting list for the Detroit Open, lets just hope things work out like last year and I make it in.

January 21 2008

I just finished two back to back shows and am in need of some rest, I have been fighting a bad cold and an ear infection that has one ear plugged real bad making talking to people a little difficult.

The weather has been strange with a couple of days in the 60's and now in the low teens

I have a doctors appointment this week lets hope things get better

January 1 2008

I whish each and all of you have a great New Year!

The shows are about to start I'm headed to Kalamazoo this weekend at Leaders Marine this Sunday and then its off to Novi the following week for the Ultimate Fishing Show. If your in the area stop by and say hello!

December 2 2007

well we got the first snowfall that has stuck to the ground and its looking a lot like its here to stay!

Can't believe that 2008 is just around the corner and the boat and fishing show just a few weeks after that. I've been working on the 2008 schedule and I'll be able to lock most of it down soon.

November 21 20007

Happy Turkey Day!

Hope everyone is ready for the holidays

Got a recall on the oil pump on the Yamaha so I'm setting up a date to get that taken care of. If you own a Yamaha HPDI you might want to call your dealership and see if yours is part of this recall.

November 5 2007

Well I know I've been away for a while now but I've been busy trying to schedule a lot of stuff for the 2008 season - shows and tournaments and it's been difficult. I didn't want to make any commitments till I knew what I was doing with the FLW next year and as of today I put my deposit in for the 2008 Detroit River FLW Chevy Open!

And by the looks of the new "off  Limits" rule for the FLW I will be able to fish the NBAA Detroit River Open. I'm also informed that my favorite NBAA series "The St. Clair Sunday Challenge" will schedule all of it's events starting in August so this will allow me to fish all of them as well, so this should be a good year for me!

I will be sending out the Nov. Newsletter later this week posting this as well as other news

October 4 2007

I've been lining up the storage for the boat and looking forward to next year already and can't wait, I know in a couple of months I'm going to be bouncing off the walls

I got the Newsletter out and messed up a couple of things on it but as most of you know I'm not perfect! :)

I'll be doing some updates to the site soon and adding a few new videos to the Funny Stuff section so keep an eye out for that.

I need to keep telling all of you THANK YOU so much for making this happen!

September 20 2007

All in all this has been a great season and I managed another top three with a 3rd place at the annual "Toad Fest" this last weekend. This hasn't been a stellar year but I think I held my own.

I'm doing my best to squeeze a couple of more days in before the cold weather gets here.

September 9 2007

Well the regular season as come to a close and I have had a blast this year. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and helping me live this dream!

I've been a little under the weather this past week and my computer has been acting up as well this is why I haven't posted in the past few days and why the Newsletter is a little late.

there is still some good fishing left here and a few "Pick Up" tournaments to fish and I plan to try and fish till the snow starts to fall.

August 29 2007

This is the last weekend of the regular tournament season for me with two NBAA events on St. Clair. Not sure I'll fish both but I'll be fishing the Sunday Challenge for sure when you consider I'm 13th in the points and a win just might move me into the cut for the classic. I'll be up against some really good anglers so this will be a up hill battle.

There will still be some local / one shot tournaments to fish before its time to put the boat up for the year.

(This season went by way to fast)

August 22 2007
Sorry I haven't posted in a week my back as been giving me some trouble and I've been parked on the sofa the past few days. I think it was the last tournament when I spent 11 hours in the rain and very cold temps for August here.

I need to welcome Fishing Headquarters dot com to the website (Thanks Capt. Andy) They have a great website with lots of fishing info as well as a charter service in Fort Lauderdale FL so if you get down their way check them out please.

I have one event left with the NBAA Sunday Challenge and if I do well I will make the classic, rather impressive when you consider I missed two tournaments due to the FLW

August 14 2007
Its strange how one week I can do so well and the next struggle just to get a limit. Saturdays NBAA Double barrel tournament saw me weigh in only 4 fish with three real nice fish and one real small one. I made a couple of wrong decisions and by the end of the day I felt I would be better off keeping my money in my pocket rather then donate it to the Wonderland Open. I knew the best of the best would be at this event and after Saturdays bad showing I didn’t have much confidence

I’m please to see a short segment about my win on St. Clair a few weeks ago that earned me the Skeeter Real Money Prize on the NBAA Website. They have a portion of the story I put in the Newsletter and a nice picture of me and the boat.

August 9 2007

Boy has it been crazy this past week or so, seem one tournament blends right into another.

It's confirmed that the NBAA tournament I won lat month has earned me Skeeter Real Money in the amount of $2,000 and I came real close to winning it again this past weekend in another NBAA tournament where I had 24.93 pounds to take second place and 1/2 a pound out of first.

I'll be sending out the Newsletter soon and will cover the tournament win in a short story.

I'm fishing two tournaments this weekend another NBAA tournament and the Wonderland Open

July 29 2007

It has been a couple of wild weeks for me but I think things are slowing down a little allowing me to catch my breath

I'm still replaying the FLW tournament in my head and hindsight is always 20/20 but I realize that I should have played it a little differently. At least I'll get another chance next year when they return!

I think I figured out why I didn't do as well this past Saturday
See Video #1       See Video #2

July 22 2007

I've been on a mission this past week to try and redeem myself for the FLW and I think I'm off to a good start!

I finished second Friday in the Auto Value Open and took first place today in the NBAA Sunday St. Clair Challenge. I know these aren't as big as the FLW but they are against some of the best local tournament anglers.

I'm one tired puppy right now so I will post more later

July 19 2007

I'm still banging my head on the desk for not going after the smaller fish and at least cashing a check in the FLW tournament, but it's difficult to leave a spot when you got two 4 pound fish first thing in the morning.

But a good friend of mine Brian Ward of Selfridge Sport and Tackle said something to me prior to the tournament and I should have heeded his words - "You can't win a tournament in the first day but you can sure loose it"

I'm on an emotional rollercoaster right now, one minute thinking "well it may not look like it but you came close to being in the top ten, and the next beating myself up for not going after a check and bringing home some extra cash.

I need to welcome a couple of new players to the site, first is TEAM BASS a Michigan Federation Nation Club and second is SAVE PHACE the mask you see a lot of anglers wearing these days to protect their face while running at high speed on the water. (Thanks Blake)

Speaking of running at high speeds on the water this just reminded me of the fact that I swear I saw an Asian Carp jump in front of my boat as I was running down the Detroit River on day two of the tournament. I really hope it was just some other fish but I've seen enough videos of them by now to swear it was one of them. If I'm right we anglers are in trouble and bass fishing is now going to be a contact sport!

July 15 2007

Well if you followed the tournament you know why I’m posting today and not fishing. I didn’t do well at all in this event, I pre-fished a ton and found some really good fish but the day before the weather changed and my fish disappeared and I couldn’t even manage a limit.

I take that back I could have brought in a small limit each day but I got swept up in the hype and swung for the fence. This has been a problem of mine for some time now and I think this event has taught me a lesson. As soon as I found that my fish had shut down I should have went for a small limit and at least cashed a check but I’ve had this “Tin Cup” syndrome for a long time and it’s hard to shake.

With that said I had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it, Bill Taylor and the FLW staff put on a wonderful show and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world, it’s a major learning experience for me.

I will be posting more about each days fishing as time goes on.

July 11 2007

The pre tournament meeting starts in a few hours and then it's bed time for me even thou I know I'm not going to get much sleep tonight at least I'll be resting.

I've got a solid game plan and think I will do well, I just hope the weather cooperates and lets us have a few good days.

Whish me luck and I'll talk to you when it's all said and done.

Don't forget you can watch the weigh ins live on the FLW Outdoors website

Weigh in Thursday & Friday starts at 3PM

Weigh in Saturday & Sunday starts at 4PM

July 7 2007

I'm In!

I got the call today from Bill Taylor telling me that I'm headed to the big show

This is going to be a very busy time for me during this next week

July 4 2007

Hope all my visitors here in the states are enjoying the holiday

No new news on the FLW front I assume it will be at the pre registration meeting when I figure out what's up.

I've got the grill fired up and some burgers ready to go on

June 29 2007

I was really hoping to announce my confirmation for the FLW!

As of yesterday I'm 2nd on the waiting list for the FLW tournament and looks as if the waiting game will continue for another week.

I will try and get the Newsletter out on time this month

June 26 2007

Been hoping to announce my confirmation on the FLW Detroit River Chevy Open but I'm still waiting to hear the good word. I've been on the phone with them and I'm in the top ten of the waiting list but they need to confirm each angler one at a time so hear I sit waiting for the phone to ring. They told me I'm basically in but they have to do this their way but the waiting is killing me.

As soon as I hear something I will post the news!

The weights in the local tournaments are coming up so this tells me that they are headed to their summer haunts and this is a good thing!

June 22 2007

I talked to the fine folks at the FLW and I should be signed up and all set this Monday but in the mean time the "No Info" period has begun and I'm not allowed to fish any other tournaments or receive information on the tournament waters until the event is over so I'm fishing solo till then.

I'm headed out tomorrow to start the hunt for the winning weight :)

June 17 2007

Things have been crazy around here for the past weeks or so I've been fishing most of the time and getting little sleep.

I got to fish the NBAA OPEN and managed to catch a ton of fish but other seemed to catch bigger ones then I did. This is the hard time of the year for me out there with American water only, as most of you know I fish Canadian water almost exclusively.

I need to welcome Mann's Bait Company to the website (Thanks Hunter) Mann's is one of the best manufactures of crank baits and soft plastics in the sport.

Well the next tournament is the big one! the FLW Detroit River "Chevy Open so I will be covering a whole lot of water trying to find better fish as well as follow them into their summer haunts.

June 6 2007

Now that the NBAA Classic is over I can focus on the water I know and the tournaments ahead. The sunburn has started to peel and I'm doing much better so I have started to get on St. Clair and get ready for the NBAA St. Clair Open coming up on the 17th.

Please welcome Yamaha Outboards to the site (Thanks Frank) As all of you know Yamaha is one of the biggest players and sponsors in this sport and I'm so proud to have to step up and join our elite group here. Yamaha is a leader in the outboard world and has a lineup of engines that will fit any of your needs.

I also need to thank John and Barry for purchasing a copy of the open tournament list I put together for Michigan. Their purchase will help uncover the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America Logo on the home page and help promote their cause.

I finally got the Newsletter out (a couple days late) I'm sorry about that but I was up at Houghton Lake then and had been catching up ever since.

June 3 2007

Wow what a tough lake! I knew I was going to have a rough time but after seeing how others did I don't feel so bad.

Not to mention that the weather tossed me another curve ball by giving us temps in the 90's and no wind at all. This was not what we where told to expect and every day I pre fished wasn't even close to this type of conditions.

Needless to say I had a next to impossible task, but I did have a great time I just didn't manage enough fish to make the cut for the Friday finally. NBAA put on one heck of a show and provided a fun experience for all.

At least now I can focus on one body of water that's only 25 minutes away and get ready for the FLW Detroit river tournament.

May 28 2007

Well I'm headed to Houghton lake first thing in the morning for the NBAA Classic. I hope I do better in the event then I have in the few days I had to pre fish, it seems the lake just doesn't like me! As I said before the weather has been nasty each time I went there.

But I still have a positive attitude and plan to give it 110%

Wish me luck and I'll post when I get back

May 21 2007

The NBAA Classic is just a week a way and I'm getting geared up. My pre-fishing has shown me this is not going to be an easy time.

The weather up there as been nothing but ugly the past three weeks and this has got the fish all screwed up but I'm thinking that if this warmer weather we are seeing now sticks around me just might find some good fishing for the event.

May 16 2007

The Auction has ended!

The auction was a big success and will help tremendously!
Close to $1,000.00 was raised and will help off set the cost of this years tournament fees.

I have been informed that I will have to miss the first couple of NBAA tournaments do to rules in the FLW events that preclude me from fishing with non FLW competitors three weeks prior to the event.

May 12 2007

I'm headed up to Houghton lake this weekend for a little pre-fishing for the NBAA Classic at the end of the month

The big news is that the Federal Government has amended the VHS Virus ban to allow Michigan anglers to fish Ohio and Canadian waters this years during tournaments. This is a big relief to most anglers in this area.

I like to thank the Dept. of Agriculture, APHIS and the many fishing groups that help get this regulation amended.

I'd like to welcome Sign-A-Rama to the website (Thanks Don) They will now be handling all my graphics on the boat and truck. They have a nice new facility and can handle all your graphics and signs.

May 5 2007

THE AUCTION HAS STARTED!

All Items will be up for auction by 10:00 PM EST tonight

SEE THEM HERE

April 26 2007

This weather is truly nerve racking after a couple of warm days with high winds we are back to cold temps and rain.

Just when I thought the shows where over I've been asked to be at the Freeway Sports Center Open House this Saturday. So if your in the area please stop by.

Anglers Auction

I just spoke with Peter T's people and they are trying to get me is Jersey as soon as possible but as it stands the auction will start the first week of May. I will be posting on most of the fishing forums as well as the Newsletter to the actual date.

There are a few new videos on the Funny Stuff Page so if you have the time check them out.

April 21 2007

Got dragged out to Bass Pro shops today for their Anglers Weekend but I'm hoping to get the boat out tomorrow.

I received some more autographed items for the auction

See the stuff here

I've decided to do the auction on eBay for a couple of reason so I will be announcing it here as well as a few of the major forums when the time comes. And that looks to be at the end of the month.

I need to welcome BT Survival to the site (Thanks Tammy) They are the fine folks that helped me get the personal locator beacon I was looking for.

April 17 2007
The Gander Mountain Show went well there was a lot of youngsters there for the Casting Kids Contest.

I love to see our youth getting involved in fishing rather then a video game.

The weather is trying it's best to keep us indoors with temps in the low 50's and winds that will blow you over.

I need to welcome Doug Hannon and his Big Bass System to the Site (Thanks Mark) This is a great bait that I'm looking forward to trying out.

April 12 2007

Spring is here? wow could have fouled me it snowed here yesterday and temps are still very cold. The boat and I are just waiting for a break in the weather now.

I'll be at the Gander Mountain in Pontiac MI. this Saturday for their show so stop by if your in the area.

Angler Auction!
I just got three hats from Pro Angler Ken Cook and I'm looking forward to other Pros sending some stuff.

See The Items Here

April 8 2007

Got the chance to see Jimmy Houston at the D&R Open house and he remembered me from the classic and assured me he was sending me something for the Anglers Auction. I also talked to Byron Velvick and he said he would be happy to send me something. The only issue is "time" Byron can't send anything for two weeks so the plan here it to start the auction at the end of April.

I have loaded up some pictures of the auction items I have at this point and am trying to set it up to run the auction here on the site. On the home page at the top right you will now see a link to the auction page

I need to welcome SWEET PEA TEA to the site they have a large selection for the tea drinker in you (Thanks Roy)

This weather is NUTS! I just got the boat loaded and the weather goes south and we now have snow on the ground again, this is crazy! At least it's going to be above freezing next week and maybe better after that.

April 4 2007

The boat is just about ready to hit the water I just put the Interstate batteries in and loaded all the tackle, I just have a couple of scheduled maintenance issues to deal with and she will be ready

I'm headed to D&R Sports this weekend for their open house so if your in the area please stop by and say hello.

I haven't received any new items for the Auction but I think that is due to the tournament schedules. I have received emails from Peter T and Ken Cook saying they will be sending something soon.

I'm still not sure if I should try and do the auction here on the site or if I should do it on eBay but I need to make a decision soon

March 29 2007
Sorry for the laps in postings I've been a busy little boy this past week

The boat is just about ready to hit the water I just have a couple of items I need to take care of first.

One is the Wonderland Marine West Fishing Extravaganza this weekend this is their first time at this and I want to be there to help if I can.

The other is the EBay stuff is selling like hot cakes and keeping real busy, at this rate I will have the FLW entry fee real soon!

March 25 2007
The weather is finally starting to warm up here now and I've been able to get outside and look the boat over and it looks like she weathered the winter real well.

I've got two shows left then it's all about the water and getting ready to wet a line.

I'm still feeling a little under the weather but I'm hoping that a little work on the boat will let me send this thing packin.

March 21 2007

Well I'm feeling much better now with just a little bit of a cough left.

I'm looking at a new Ranger team shirt with Forest L. Woods autograph on it. I'm getting a little fired up about this auction.

The shows are almost over and being the first day of Spring needless to say I'm getting the bug bad.

I'm starting to get the tackle organized and ready to load in the boat.

March 16 2007

I've been a little under the weather this past week to be honest I've been down right sicker then a dog and this is the first time in three days I have been able to stay up long enough to post a message

I got a package in the mail yesterday from Mr. Hank Parker containing two autographed shirts that will be in the auction.

I was scheduled to wok the Grand Rapids show this weekend but I have had to cancel due to the flu

So I'm going to keep this short and head back to bed and hope I feel better in the next few days

March 12 2007

Warm weather is the talk of the town right now with temps climbing to the 60's this week

I just got done working the Lansing show Thursday and Friday and Bass Pro Shops Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say it's been a long busy weekend.

I've got several new companies coming onboard in the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for that.

Auction News!

I have received items from Jay Yelas, Takahiro Omori, and George Cochran, I've also been contacted by Ken Cook, Peter T and Forest L. Wood. This is looking like it might take till the middle of April to jump off but it also looks be to a major event.

More Classic news

I was at the launch a couple of the days and it was interesting to see what goes on. First I was please to see they consider this a national sporting event and that they had a singer there to sing the National Anthem. Next is all the activity that goes on while the anglers are out on the water, I noticed a bunch of boats coming and going as well as people moving around with a purpose. Then I noticed that they where running video tap back from the anglers location to be edited for the show.

I also got to see Brian Velvick there as well as Sergeant Joe Kowalski of the show Rods & Wheels

March 5 2007
I spent the last couple of days working the Bass Pro Shop Spring Classic talking to a lot of old friends and
spreading the word about the site.

I want to welcome Daiwa to our elite group here they are providing me with product for their space and when it comes to reels it's like cash in hand for me because I would have turned right around and used the cash to purchase the reels
(Thank you Marc!)

Back to the classic

As you can see from the pictures in the Photo Gallery that I had the incredible opportunity to talk to many of the legends in this sport and talk fishing. We talked about the differences in fishing southern lakes such as Lay lake and the lakes I fish up here, I was impressed with their knowledge and experience they have fishing the water up here.

I also got the chance to talk to Gerald Swindle on day three after his DQ and he was apologizing to everybody for letting them down and in our conversation I told him he was still tops on my list and we all make mistakes. He is such a nice guy and spend hours signing autographs.

Auction Update

I just got George Cochran's donation of a tournament shirt "Jersey" with all his sponsor logos as well as

his autograph on it. This is a beautiful shirt and I'm sure will be a big draw.

I'm setting up a new section on the site here to start displaying the donations and provide information on the auction.

March 1 2007

The Newsletter will be a couple days late this month because of all the things going on at this time

The Classic is so much fun and you get to see much more then you see on TV, not to mention the Expo
and all the pros you get to meet there as well. Speaking of this don't forget to check out the Photo Gallery and all the great shot I got there. I will be talking more in detail about my time there as the days go on.

I need to apologize to Scott Rauber and Fish For Free, I signed up for what I'm sure was a very informative seminar that he put on done there during the Classic but I could get there because the weigh in ran way over on time and I didn't get out of the stadium till it was to late.

I've had a couple of companies contact me to let me know they are sending some autographed items for my

auction next month. I will be providing more information on this and the companies as time goes on.

February 27 2007

WOW! what a great trip! I have so much to talk about.

Alabama is a wonderful state with so much to look at and the drive through the mountains is so beautiful not to mention they are the birth place for B.A.S.S.

The Classic is huge and I'm working on the photos and will have some of them up tonight and more soon. I got to meet so many great people and will cover that in more detail in the days to come.

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

I have been collecting some autographed items this past year and I thought it might be a good idea if I tried to get some collectables that I could auction off to help the cause and after talking to many of the pros that worked the Expo I found all of these fantastic people are very generous and willing to provide some  items that you won't find anywhere else.

This is going to take some time to work out all the details and get everything ready so keep checking back.

February 22 2007
The trucks is loaded up and I'm headed out! Look for me on the live broadcast this weekend who knows maybe the camera might catch a shot of me in the crowd.

Talk to you when I get back

February 17 2007

I've been watching the live weigh in on the FLW website and imagining myself up there on the stage with a big sack of bass looking out over the crowd!

Less then 5 days till I head out for the Classic and get out of this cold white stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of my supporters as well as some of the legends in the sport. I'll be taking a ton of photos while I'm there so keep an eye on the photo galley.

February 13 2007

Remember tomorrow is Valentine's Day here in the states so make sure you take care of your loved one!

I've been rather busy these past few days setting up the eBay stuff and it looks like this is going to be a big help.

Well it's just about a week from now I'll be headed to the Bassmaster Classic, I'm rather pumped up and looking forward to getting away from all this white stuff that is covering everything here these days. Plus it looks like I will be getting allot more of this snow in the next day or two from what I see on the news.

February 8 2007

Well temps are at least above zero these days I guess that's a good thing

I got a great opportunity from Anglers Mart and K&E Tackle they have a lot of discontinued and over stocked products and they have asked me if I would like to help them sell the products on eBay for them and of course I excepted!

This is some great stuff that is not just for bass fishing so if you get the chance please stop by and take a look

February 4 2007

I've been working on my trip to the Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham AL. in a few weeks and looks like all is a go!

I hope everyone is ready for the big game tonight, my team didn't make it but I'm looking forward to a good game. We will be having a few friends over and a buffet of lunch meats and snacks. (Nothing big)

I hope every one is in warmer weather then I'm in right now it was near zero this morning keeping me in the house.

January 28 2007

Winter is finally here! the temps have been below freezing for almost two weeks now and I hear the Ice fishing is going strong now. I don't Ice fish myself due to it being to difficult to get out there and with no feeling in my legs its to easy to get frost bite without knowing it. But I am glad to see it here because the local bait stores have been hurting for business with it.

So for now I'm stuck in the house watching fishing shows and playing with the tackle dreaming of spring.

January is coming to a close and the Newsletter will be out soon so look for that in your email.

January 24 2007

I got my confirmation letter from the FLW yesterday for the Detroit River Open, this has me all pumped up

and bouncing off the walls and dreaming of big fish and the chance I might be on stage with some legends of the sport.

The weather has me stuck in the house these days with little to talk about so the FLW letter is the main topic of most of my conversations.

This will be a great opportunity to gain some phenomenal exposure not just for me but all the supporters here.

January 21 2007

I may have a new Big Pixel Buyer soon! I have been talking to a company that is seriously considering a commitment

that will make me very happy, I hope to have some news soon.

The weather here is finally looking more like winter with temps in the teens these days. I'm not a big fan of this type of weather but I'm glad to see the local tackle stores getting some ice fishing business.

January 18 2007

The Novi show was a blast and I got to talk to so many people and visit with many supporters

And if any keeps track the traffic they will notice its doing real well right now

I'm trying to lock down my travel plans for the Bassmasters Classic next month and if anyone plans to attend feel free to drop me a line and maybe we can get together.

January 11 2007

I'm off to help set up at the Novi show today and I will be there till Monday night

I look forward to seeing a lot of old friends there as well as make some new ones

I added a few new videos on the Funny Stuff Page I'm sure you will enjoy them

December 29 2006

I whish each and every one of you a safe and Happy New Year!

I think this as been the mildest winter I've ever seen so far with temps reaching the 50's today I'm regretting winterizing the boat.

See you next year!

December 23 2006

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I have been a little busy lately with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources helping rewrite the tournament permit rules for the 2007 season. I'm happy to say that the MDNR has become more open minded towards tournaments and bass anglers as a whole and should prove to be a new area of cooperation.

The Shows are getting close! There is one about two weeks away so I'm gearing up for them as well

December 19 2006

The weather here is so strange right now we haven't had much snow at all and temps have been well above normal,

At least it allows me to get out and around much easier.

I've been playing with a new fishing log software program called the Angler's Genie that was sent to me (thanks Doug) This has some great features including tournament and money management sections.

December 15 2006

Newsletter subscriptions are up (Thank You) and traffic is booming right now (Another Big Thank You)

I need to welcome Gander Mountain of Pontiac Michigan to the site (Thanks Pete) Gander is as most of you know a great place to find all your outdoor stuff at a great price. Stop in and tell Pete thanks for supporting Fishing Pixels

December 12 2006

I'm going to the show!

Well I'm on the waiting list as number 25 for the FLW Detroit River tournament but after talking to Tournament Director Robert Vannerson I'm feeling pretty good. He told me that since this is the last tournament of the year for this series I stand a very good chance of getting in. He also said that last year they managed to get just about everyone on the waiting list in for the last tournament.

So needless to say I'm one happy camper! I also plane to attend the pre tournament no matter what just incase so the odds are in my favor.

December 6 2006

The December Newsletter went out this past weekend and has a very nice story about the 2006 season from the start of the website till now and I think is a great read. If you would like to see this please subscribe to the Newsletter

Things are a little slow right now with the holidays and off season but I'm sure will pick up soon.

November 30 2006

The weather is headed south, yesterday it was so nice here I had a couple of windows open in the house.

The Newsletter for this month will be out in the next day or 2 so if you haven't signed up yet now's the time.

I added a new video to the Funny Stuff Page, check it out!

I need to remind everyone about the Big Fish Pixels buyer list on the Big Fish Tackle home page, where if you are one of the top three pixel buyers after Feb. 15 2006 you will get a free text link on the Big Fish Tackle home page. This promotion will run till all pixels are sold on my site here ,so you can get a major boost in traffic from two websites just by making one purchase.

November 26 2006

The weather here has been incredibly nice these past few days making me wish I hadn't winterized the boat already, but I know this wont last long.

Traffic here at the site has been fantastic, I guess with the holiday more folks have the time to stop by and see what's up.

I hope everyone had a enough to eat this past holiday, I know I did.

November 22 2006

Well it's been one year since I started the site and as most of you know I have come a long way from being that guy stuck in the house for almost two years. I need to say thank you to everyone for your support if not for you, I'm not sure what would have come of me, I was really depressed back then and didn't even like to go outside anymore. I should state every post with "Thank You"

I hope all of my visitors here in the states have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

November 18 2006

We are still getting mild weather here and I'm looking forward to a nice big turkey dinner this weekend as I will be starting the Holiday season early and visiting some friends to the north tomorrow.

I need to welcome PlugsPlus.net to the site they have some very unique items and lures for the outdoorsman (Thanks Jim)

I'd like to thank all the nice people that have been posting links to the funny stuff videos on all the different message boards out there, this has provided some great traffic to the site and truly appreciate it.

November 15 2006

Well I did it! I put my deposit in for the FLW Tour Detroit River Tournament for this summer. I Hope I'm picked for this tournament it's during the time of year I'm on my best game and could be a major leap for me.

I need to welcome Cyber-Lake.com to our elite group here. They have a great website with a place for you to post your fishing photos. (Thanks Rich)

I'm still bouncing off the walls right now thinking about this FLW event and what could be!

November 12 2006

We had a slight Indian summer this past weekend and I did my best to spend as much time outside enjoying it.

I need to welcome a couple of new folks to the site here. First is a Chicago Sox Fan that didn't want me to mention his name or link his logo. He just wanted to help, So thanks to the Sox Fan!

Next is Walker Angling Wear, A nice little online store for outdoors enthusiasts (Thanks Neil)

I have a handful of new companies that will be joining us soon so keep an eye out for that.

November 7 2006

Election Day

Today is election day and I for one am glad it is here now maybe my phone will stop ringing of the wall with automated calls trying to tell me who to vote for.

I wont bore you or try and convince you who to vote for I'm just proud to be part of the process and I hope you do too.

November 04 2006

well the snow is falling but not sticking to the ground yet, and temps are in the upper 20's in the mornings and mid 40's during the day.

Traffic to the site is going strong with many new visitors checking out the Funny Stuff page.

With the forth quarter at hand many companies are looking to get some extra dollars out of the holiday season and I'm hoping they realize that advertising here will help.

October 31 2006

I'm glad I put the boat up already, I helped a friend out with his tournament on Cass Lake this past Sunday and the weather was ugly and all the anglers came back to the weigh in complaining how nasty it was.

October 26 2006

Well it's official, the season is over for me. I winterized the boat today and am in the process of storing the tackle away for the long winter.

I did manage to get out yesterday with my buddy Jim from Kimastle and we did get a couple of walleye. The weather wasn't the best and winds kept us working hard to stay on track, add to this the water was rather dirty.

I have a few irons in the fire for this winter and am looking forward to the shows after the first, but in the mean time it's the start of the holiday season here and I hope you all are doing well.

October 22 2006

I'm trying to set up a walleye outing this coming week just to get out one more time.

The weather is chilly but I just don't want to call it a year yet. It seems like it was just yesterday when I got the boat.

I see the site traffic is doing well with a lot of people visiting and checking out the new pictures and videos on the Funny Stuff page.

October 17 2006

I added some new pictures and videos on the Funny Stuff Page you will get a kick out of.

October 13 2006

We had our first snow here yesterday and temps are 20 degrees below average here right now.

The day started out with a wind chill factor in the 30's again today.

The boat sits ready to try and squeeze in one or two more days if we ever get back to normal around here.

I'm writing up a story of my season to try and recap all the ups and downs, look for that in the weeks to come.

October 8 2006

I got to go out today and managed to get a couple of real nice fish. You can see them in the Photo Gallery under the New Shirt New Luck Album.

I'm looking forward to next year and have been looking over the schedules that are posted already and I noticed that the FLW is coming to Michigan next year. I'm thinking I should put an application in for this event since it is my home water.

I may not get picked to fish but I have to at least try. I need to have a $1,000 deposit in on November 6th 06, so I guess I better get to work and sell some pixels! lol So if you would like to see your logo on the boat and website for the Major event please consider a pixel purchase.

October 5 2006

I hope to get out this weekend and get one more day in before it gets to cold here

I need to welcome Scott Martin's On-Line Tackle store to our group (Thanks Scott) Scott has a new online store he is filling with some great products that we all need.

I'm not happy about the upcoming winter but it does allow me to spend more time here on the site.

October 2 2006

The weather is getting cold here with temps dropping fast. I got out over the week end and even with temps in the 50's I manage to catch a lot of fish. None I would like to take to the scales but just to be out fishing is so much fun now.

The newsletter will be going out this week so look for it in your email.

I'm going to try and get a couple more days of fishing in before it gets to cold here but my focus is now turning to getting the boat ready for the long winter storage.

September 28 2006

It's been a great year!

As far as I'm concerned I'm a winner in every tournament I fished this year just for the fact that I got to fish them.

All in all when you consider I didn't get to fish till late June and I still managed to qualify for the NBAA weeknight classic next spring and had a handful of top 10 finishes and a great 2nd place finish on St. Clair with a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 23.31 pounds!

I'll still be fishing for the next month and telling tall tails about the ones that got away! :)

I want to thank Al Smith and Terry Brown from Bass Fan for putting me on their Bass Fan Army product review staff and sending me a box full of great product to review.

September 25 2006

What a rough day on the water yesterday! winds of 30mph or more made the lake a real rough place to fish so I went back into the river and even this was rougher then I have seen in a long time.

I didn't do to well I should have stuck it out on the lake (I know better) but I'm still a little rusty in all aspect of the game including decision making. (Live and learn)

I still have one big event I'm trying to lock down for the year but have a couple of things to work out first.

September 21 2006

The weather is definitely turning to fall here with temps dropping to the mid 50's during the nights.

I have one last NBAA tournament this Sunday and with my fish on the move it's going to be a roll of the dice to where I need to fish.

I've been getting a lot of complements on the boat stickers and have been asked if I could provide some for people to display on their boats and trucks, so I'm working on getting more.

September 17 2006

As I said the boat stickers are here and on the boat! I thought I would do an extra special style of Logo for the boat that shows how much I appreciate the support I'm getting from all these great companies so it took a little longer but I think you will agree it was worth it.

SEE THE STICKERS HERE

September 14 2006

The boat stickers are here! I will have some photos for you in the next few days.

I'm headed to Tawas Bay This Saturday for the NBAA Black Jack Shoot Out, I was informed Monday that I qualified for this event even with a shortened season for me, so I figure even thou I haven't fished this water before I can't pass up the opportunity for some great prizes and no entry fee.

I need to welcome Harper's Custom Products to our elite group here (Thanks Bob) Bob makes some real nice weigh in bags that I saw during a couple of tournaments and he has also made a few up with "Fishing Pixels" printed on the side.

I also need to thank Rick Kovary From Lunghamer GMC for purchasing more pixels to enlarge his space, Rick is a great guy and is the one that sold me the truck I'm in now.

September 11 2006

First I would like to take a moment on the five year anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 and pray for peace in our life time.

I had a great time this weekend in Muskegon, NBAA had a real nice setup the night before with great food and nice gifts. The tournament was another wet and windy event. Seems like the standard for me this past month, but we managed to find some fish and squeaked out a 7th place finish against these select anglers.

The season is coming to a close soon with the weather turning to a fall feel here and the number of tournaments left is getting real short.

September 7 2006

I'm headed to Muskegon this weekend for an NBAA invitational tournament on White lake. I'm looking forward to it and hope I do well.

I wish all the Stren series anglers here in town I whish I could have fished this event but finances wouldn't allow me to, beside I would rather do the full series next year and try to make the championship.

September 4 2006

6th Place this past Saturday

It was another nasty day on the water with rain all day and winds out of the northeast at 20 mph but my fish are still there and when I could manage to stay on the spot I was picking up good fish. I was a 1/4 pound away from 3rd and less then a pound from 2nd so it was a tight race.

My first cast I felt a nice bite and set the hook and thought I was going to have a real good day till I pulled up a 15 pound carp! :( but soon after that I pulled in a 4 1/4 pound small mouth.

The tournament director took a couple of pictures and said he would email me copies so as soon as I get them I will have them in the Photo Gallery.

August 31 2006

The Newsletter will be going out tomorrow.

I've been pre fishing for another NBAA tournament Saturday and I'm hoping I can do as well as I did in the last event. Whish me luck

I'm told the boat stickers will be here some time next week, can't wait to post some pictures!

August 27 2006

2nd PLACE! in the NBAA Sunday challenge on Lake St. Clair.

Wow what a day, it was ugly weather with overcast skies and rain all day but the fish didn't mind one bit. My partner for the day was Tom Wilfong and old friend from bass fishing days gone past, Tom and I started in a spot I had fished a week before that had good fish but we only managed to land one keeper and it wasn't that big.

We had marked fish about a mile back on the way there on the fish finder so we thought we might give that a try and good thing we did. as soon as we started fishing we both started to get bites. we manage to land over a dozen good fish through out the day and culled up to a outstanding weight of 23.11 pounds.

We thought we had it locked once we saw the other weights being brought in but wouldn't you know it, another team had 23.78

The Tournament Shirts are here! After a long wait I finally got the tournament shirt just in time for this tournament, See Pictures of them here as well as a couple of the nice fish we got in that event

I also got a tenth place finish on Union Lake last Thursday!

August 20 2006

I think I might be remembering how to fish, lol I took third place Thursday on White Lake and 10th place in the NBAA Double Barrel event on Lake St. Clair yesterday.

On White Lake I found a 100 yard stretch of break line that produce a limit of fish in a couple of hours.  After that it turned out to be a tough bite for me but with a limit in the boat I was feeling pretty good. I did get to cull one small fish right at the end. I got all the fish using a tube bait working it down the top of the break line.

As for St. Clair I found a nice area that produced some good fish in practice and seemed like it was going to be a winner when the day started. in the first ten minutes I put a 5 pound and a 4 pound fish in the boat. 15 minutes later I landed 4 & 1/2 pound fish. This all in less then a half an hour has got me feeling good about the day, Then for the next four hours I boated a 5lb drum and 9 Walleye biggest being over 6 pounds. But this is a bass tournament and the bass have seemed to have moved. After that I hooked a fish and right off the bat I knew this wasn't a walleye, it started to climb to the surface as soon as I set the hook. It jumped about 7 feet from the boat and made the 5 pound fish look small, as soon as it did this it spit my bait and was gone. Total weight for the day worked out to 18 3/4 pounds, but couldn't come close to the record setting weight of 27 + pounds for this series.

All in All I'm starting to get my grove back and at least finishing near the top again.

August 15 2006

Well I finished 14th Sunday with 18.24 pounds that's enough to finish in the top 5 most days but it seems the big fish are on the bite. Still it's a great time and I'm getting closer to the top of the board each time.

I can't thank each of you enough for helping me return to this great sport and allow me to live life to the fullest. I can't express how much this means to me and the feeling I get each time I launch the boat and anticipate the day to come!

August 12 2006

I love this weather days are in the 80's and nights are in the 60's Makes for some good times on the water.

I have been spending some time now on the St. Clair River and have had some success. I'm going to apply some of this knowledge tomorrow in a NBAA tournament.

Whish Me Luck!

August 7 2006

I got an opportunity to run up the St. Clair River and fish for some of the monster summer small mouth that dominate the tournaments here. It was a great learning experience and a true pleasure.

I should have a few new pixel buyers this week!

I don't know what's going on with the stickers and shirts but I plan to find out this week.

August 3 2006

The temps are coming down finally, but now there are flood warning due to the deluge of rain here now. Hopefully August will bring some better weather.

I plan to get out this weekend and see if I can find some fish for a couple of up coming events in the area.

There some new photos in the photo gallery and some new pictures in the funny stuff section.

I want to wish the great anglers that are in the FLW Championship good luck!

July 29 2006

The heat is on! Temps still in the mid 90's these days makes fishing tough for me as well as the fish.

And with August on the way it doesn't look like the heat is going to let up any time soon.

Seeing how I didn't get the boat in time this year and the fact that I missed a lot of tournaments and won't make the classic in most of the series, I am going to use the rest of the season to get my edge back and focus on next season.

July 26 2006

Seems I can find and hook some good fish but I'm still having issues landing them! I found some good fish prior to this past Sundays NBAA St. Clair tournament but the day of the event I couldn't keep them on the line. I between my partner Ken Neeley of KD Outdoors and myself we lost more then 6 fish that we needed. I did manage to land two fish one of which was a real nice 5 pound smallmouth but it wasn't enough to even get big fish of the day. Seems a few anglers found the big ones that day and they managed to land them. My hats off to them!

Traffic is still doing well but I'm not fairing well at all on sales, between the conflict in the middle east and the cost of fuel these days many companies are limiting their expenditures right now.

I do have a few large companies that will be getting onboard in their next fiscal year.

July 22 2006

I'm getting my groove back! I had a top five finish Thursday and things are looking good for tomorrow!

The weather looks good for tomorrow and I can count on a nice ride with this boat.

Now that ICAST is over maybe I can get a hold of a couple of companies this week and do a little business.

July 19 2006

Well I have a couple of small tournaments this week end starting tomorrow and another Sunday so wish me luck.

I'll be on a small lake called Fenton tomorrow and Lake St. Clair this Sunday.

It seems most of the companies I'm talking to as well as emailing are at the ICAST" convention in Vegas this week so I'm not getting much done on the sales end of the site, but traffic is doing good and seems to be getting better.

July 16 2006

HEAT WAVE!!!

Temps have been in the 90's for a few days now and it looks like it's not going to let up soon.

I did get out yesterday for a couple of hours before it got to hot and found some fish to play with.

My back is doing much better and I'm looking forward to some good fishing soon. I have a couple of major tournaments coming up in August so I really need to get out and find some good fish.

July 13 2006

Sorry for the delay I have been out of commission with some back issues.

And with the temps going to be in the mid to upper 90's this week end and no major tournaments this weekend it seem like a good time to take a break and relax.

I'll be on the phone most of tomorrow talking to more companies about pixel purchases to feel free to drop me a line if you like

July 9 2006

I took the weekend off to relax a little and because I didn't have any good fish that would give me a chance to do well in any of the local tournaments.

It also gave me a chance to work on the boat a little, I added some anchor rings on the back deck so I can strap down the wheelchair when I go out alone.

I also need to get the stickers for the boat as well as the tournament shirts done so I will be working on getting them done this week.

July 6 2006

I just got off the water from another NBAA Thursday event and I have to admit I'm humbled, I caught over 40 fish yet I couldn't find one keeper. But I still look at it this way, "I could be stuck at home doing nothing"

I need to welcome Lake-Link.com to our elite group (Thanks Darin) Stop by and see the new look to their website.

I want to congratulate Marcel Veenstra in his 6th place finish in the Canadian Pro am over the holiday weekend.

Way to go Marcel!

I sent the July Newsletter out over the holiday and I hope you all enjoyed it.

July 3 2006

I hope every one is having a good holiday

I have most of the modifications to the boat done and will posting the pictures in the gallery soon

I can't wait to have the Fishing Pixels logos on the boat. You can see a sample of the logo here

I pre-fished a couple of lakes this holiday weekend and I hope I do better in the tournaments because I didn't find many keeper fish, I can find lots of small fish but keepers are hard to come by.

I did get out for a few hours on Erie today and found some good fish.

I got some of the Tow Float units from Howie and he has asked me to see that they get to some kids in need of this great little tool for shore anglers, so I'm talking to a couple of groups to see who might benefit from these the most.

June 30 2006

Well the boat is coming along nicely, I just need to get my game back. I've fished two small tournaments and I haven't done that well. I will say I'm having a great time but I know it will take a little while to get back in the game and be competitive.

Todd over at Gemini Sports Marketing is working on the stickers and embroidery They have some new stuff I think once we get all this done the boat and my shirts are going to look great!.

I hope you all have a fun and safe Holiday weekend!

June 27 2006

I'm fishing Orchard Lake this Thursday and it looks like rain.

I need to thank Mike at Blue Lake Tackle for helping with some Issues with my electronics.

I am looking forward to the holiday week and I hope you are too.

Things have been slow on the sales end of the site due to me trying to get the boat tweaked to my needs but the traffic is going strong with all the nice folks stopping by to see the new boat and what's going on

June 24 2006

I got to go out today on Lake Erie and I must say I need to learn how to catch again! lol

No really it was a beautiful day out but the fish didn't seem to be ready to take the bait. I noticed I wasn't the only one having problems, many of the BFL anglers that mad
